About Us

Wes is the Founder and CEO of Merit Development Group, bringing over 20 years of extensive experience in construction and real estate development. His expertise spans a wide range of areas, including single-family and luxury home construction, residential subdivisions, commercial development and buildouts, senior and independent housing, corporate housing, multi-family and apartment development, national credit tenant projects, mixed-use development, student housing, agricultural investments, and property management. Wes takes immense pride in the relationships he has built and the excellence and merit he has brought to each project.

While embarking on his real estate career, Wes founded Heartland Search Company in 2006, an executive search and consulting firm specializing in the Banking Industry. Wes also worked for a national bank prior to entering into the executive recruitment and consulting world.

Raised on a farm in northeast Iowa, he embodies the values of respect, hard work, discipline, and commitment. Wes resides in Manchester with his wife, Jamie, and their four children.
